JEAP Hosting V1.0 :

ICSA Inc. intends to provide J2EE Hosting services under the brand name JEAP Host. This service would provide and interface to the customers where the customers code their business logic in J2EE and upload the application to our server infrastructure. From here on our process takes over and deploys the application to the J2EE Application Servers. Depending upon the load and the response times for each application the number of application servers for each application can be increased or decreased dynamically. This is called clustering and will aid in giving a clustered redundant environment with load balancing and fail over. Also as and when the physical resources of the instances in use are approaching a saturation point, additional instances can be provisioned on demand using the Amazon EC2 API and more JVMs can be accommodated.

The proposed pricing strategy will bill the customer in a very different way from what the existing players do right now. For the customer, serving all the requests is important and not the maximum heap size or the disk space. So we offer a more granular pricing scheme which would essentially bring down his spendings. Our strategy is "Give us the application, and we will maintain it in a highly available environment without any downtimes. You pay for the resources used". The scaling threshold and parameters and threshold is decided by the client only, thus giving him the flexibility to control the bill incurred. This pricing strategy has not been implemented by anyone in the J2EE Hosting market yet.

The current bill will include the price for the RAM used + price for the CPU used + price for the Network bandwidth used + price for the storage used. This amount will be quite less than the amount that people end up paying with the present J2EE hosting providers in the market. The customers will be given a 24/7 customer support by phone+chat+email. The support engineers will work in the US for the first shift, and from India for the rest of the shifts to give round the clock coverage, since the applications will be 24/7 applications and the clients can be all over the world. If the customers are not satisfied by the services, we also intend to give a 30 day money back scheme.

Infrastructure powered by Amazon

Amazon EC2

Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) is a web service that provides resizable compute capacity in the cloud. It is designed to make web-scale computing easier for developers.

Amazon EC2's simple web service interface allows you to obtain and configure capacity with minimal friction. It provides you with complete control of your computing resources and lets you run on Amazon's proven computing environment. Amazon EC2 reduces the time required to obtain and boot new server instances to minutes, allowing you to quickly scale capacity, both up and down, as your computing requirements change. Amazon EC2 changes the economics of computing by allowing you to pay only for capacity that you actually use. Amazon EC2 provides developers the tools to build failure resilient applications and isolate themselves from common failure scenarios.

Amazon Simple Storage Service

Amazon S3 is storage for the Internet. It is designed to make web-scale computing easier for developers.

Amazon S3 provides a simple web services interface that can be used to store and retrieve any amount of data, at any time, from anywhere on the web. It gives any developer access to the same highly scalable, reliable, fast, inexpensive data storage infrastructure that Amazon uses to run its own global network of web sites. The service aims to maximize benefits of scale and to pass those benefits on to developers.
